Abstract:

 Job satisfaction is one of the criteria of establishing a healthy organizational structure in an organization. Nurses are inseparable cornerstone of the health system. Job satisfaction of these nurses will affect the quality of career rendered in our healthcare centers. In this respect the question of how the elemental factors affect their level of satisfaction becomes important. This paper tried to examine the level of job satisfaction among the nurses.

This is a cross-sectional study conduct to determine the level of job satisfaction among nurses in their workplace. A total of 193 self administered questionnaire were obtained for data analysis. The subjects’ were selected randomly. Internal consistent reliability by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient test was 0.706.

          The result showed that nurses job satisfaction is moderate-high. The null hypothesis for age and marital status was upheld at, age –p-value 0.8028 and marital status –P-Value 0.145.But for education P-Value <0.0001 and years of experience is P-Value <0.00001 too. The finding is important for understanding level of job satisfaction and are milestone to improve quality nursing care /services at the centre.  It is recommended that management should be encouraged to sustain profitable policies to motivate the nurses.

    I write to commend your excellent adherence to the APA format in your presentation. You also demonstrated a good understanding of the quantitative analysis of data.
    I wonder whether the results of your findings would be different if your sample population comprised a higher number of male nurses. I agree that in Sub Saharan Africa, nurses are predominantly female. How would male nurses reaction be to the question on compensation?

    Thanks for your write up.
    My only concern (in the part of the world were the research was carried out) is that it is not only a matter of having good polices by management. The problem is mostly in the implementation of the good polices and sustenance.

    I have few comments though:
    1. How can organizations appropriately manage dissatisfied employees in order not to impact negatively on the employer?
    2. What are the core determinants of job satisfaction?

    Comment:
    Why outlining suggestions and giving opinions in your background of the study? I thought you should only state the gaps in Background of the study.
    How do you create research questions if you have already given suggestions and opinions about job satisfaction in the background of the study?
    Are you able to justify the difference between the background of the study and the introduction of the study?
    Why conceptual framework and theological framework together? Can you create a theory without a concept? What is the difference between conceptual frame and theological frame?
    Why specific objectives for number 2 and 3 are not correlating with research question number 2?
